چکیده

Abstract Phytophthora boehmeriae Sawada is an important pathogenic oomycete, and causes blight of cotton ramie, which are main limiting factors to the production ramie in China. The aggressiveness fitness metalaxyl-resistant (MR) mutants P. obtained by inducing on LBA amended with sublethal dose (10 µg·mL −1 ) metalaxyl were studied this paper. results showed that there no significant differences between MR their metalaxyl-sensitive (MS) wild-type parents temperature for mycelial growth, zoosporangium production, sensitivity malachite green, pathogenicity seedlings. However, oospore productions much lower than those MS parents. growth rates colony morphology all displayed obvious variation or separation, inherited unsteadily single-zoospore single-oospore progenies. At same time, homothallic character could inherit steadily as well isolates did asexual sexual It was suggested possessed equal parental isolates, would develop population easily a short time long formed. Thereby, be high risk development resistance populations field, when continuously applied control diseases caused boehmeriae.

Metalaxyl Degradation by Mucorales Strains Gongronella sp. and Rhizopus oryzae.

In this study, the degradation of metalaxyl was investigated in the presence of two Mucorales strains, previously isolated from soil subjected to repeated treatments with this fungicide and selected after enrichment technique. Fungal strains were characterised by a polyphasic approach using phylogenetic analysis of the Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) gene region, phenotypic characterisation b...

Metalaxyl Resistance in Phytophthora infestans: Assessing Role of RPA190 Gene and Diversity Within Clonal Lineages.

Prior work has shown that the inheritance of resistance to metalaxyl, an oomycete-specific fungicide, is complex and may involve multiple genes. Recent research indicated that a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in the gene encoding RPA190, the largest subunit of RNA polymerase I, confers resistance to metalaxyl (or mefenoxam) in some isolates of the potato late blight pathogen Phytophthora ...

Sensitivity of North American Isolates of Phytophthora erythroseptica and Pythium ultimum to Mefenoxam (Metalaxyl)

Since their introduction in the late 1970s, phenylamide fungicides have been used effectively to control diseases caused by the Peronosporales. These fungicides have a very specific mode of action; inhibiting fungal ribosomal RNA polymerases (7). Because of this specificity, there is a relatively high risk that resistance to the fungicide may appear quickly in the target fungal population (3). ...

Pathogenicity and metalaxyl sensitivity of Phytophthora infestans isolates obtained from garden huckleberry, potato and tomato in Cameroon

Late blight is a significant disease of solanaceous crops worldwide. Knowledge of pathogenicity of isolates and metalaxyl sensitivity is important for effective management of late blight. Solanaceous crops were surveyed in the highlands of west and northwest provinces of Cameroon during 2001 and 2002. A total of 233 isolates of Phytophthora infestans were collected, of which 53 were from huckle...
